Dikenga | Passage Earrings medium

Engraved palm kernel is held by sculptural gold elements that extend across its open centre, creating a sense of movement through the circular form. The warm metal contrasts with the deeply engraved, dark surface of the kernel. Drawing on the cyclical cosmology of the Dikenga dia Kongo, Passage considers movement between states as part of an ongoing process of transformation and return. Each kernel varies naturally in size and shape, giving every pair its own proportions and character.
