Aperture Earrings

Hand-carved from reclaimed palm nut, the Aperture Earrings preserve the natural irregularity and subtle asymmetry of each kernel. Their engraved surfaces are opened at the centre and intersected by sculptural forms in recycled silver, where a repeated two-dimensional pattern rises into three-dimensional geometry.
The open centre brings light and space into the piece, while the silver appears to expand across the dark organic surface. Moving between solid and void, organic and geometric, the earrings explore transformation and the continual passage between nature and culture.
